Cynthia Kacar has over 14 years of experience within the enterprise technology arena with a focus on integrating emerging technologies into legacy enterprise systems. As President and founder of C.I.R.C.A., she provided business development, strategic planning, and investment banking advisory services to numerous enterprise technology and system integration companies. In this capacity, she has worked with a range of start-up and growth companies in putting together strategic relationships and growth strategies. For example, Ms. Kacar assisted CommerceBid, a company with a forward and reverse procurement engine, in taking the company from 6 to 50 people and in developing its branding, website and product positioning within the enterprise market. She was instrumental in initiating its first major beta test with Hewlett Packard, which was pivotal in the company being acquired by Commerce One in late 1999 for $250M in cash and stock. Ms. Kacar was also an advisor to iBeam, a company utilizing satellites to broadcast rich media, assisting with its enterprise strategy prior to its IPO.
Prior to her work in the technology industry, Ms. Kacar has had extensive work in the medical profession, including serving as a Management Consultant for Pracon, where she implemented special projects for major pharmaceutical companies, such as Merck, Pfizer, and Glaxo.
Ms. Kacar holds a Bachelors Degree in Biology from Lehigh University, as well as a Masters in Business Administration in Finance and Marketing from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas, where she was granted a teaching assistantship in Micro and Macroeconomics to the Dean of the Business School based on academic merit.
